“Do you have any questions?”
That question can be fine, if you already know what you want to ask. But not so great, if you don’t.
My mentor taught me a great deal about questions. One lesson is that sometimes we don’t know what question to ask, and that’s ok. We let ourselves and others be in process.
That kind of being-in-process thinking is in our Learning Library, from the resources, to the way it’s organized, to its name, and even the Search function.
Our Learning Library is a browse-able collection of HCP’s writing and podcast episodes, organized by role and topic, to support reflective practice in clinical and interprofessional communication. Over time, HealthCommunicationPartners.com has become a place people return to when they want a different way of thinking about communication. A place that takes language, context, and judgment seriously, and offers support for our practices as they continue to evolve.
The Learning Library is a central home for our resources. It’s available to explore for free, with the option for full access through a Plus Membership if that’s useful to you (esp. if you’re training staff, designing workshops, or curating content for colleagues).
Instead of scrolling through timelines or trying to remember where something was published, you can head to the Library and sign up, click a category, or search on an idea you’re curious about.
But you don’t need to know exactly what you’re looking for.
I’ve included an upgraded Search experience to make it faster and more helpful, even and especially when you’re not quite sure what you need. Search results are now ranked by relevance instead of date, partial searches work better, and helpful older content is easier to find. In short: less scrolling, fewer dead ends, and quicker access to what you’re looking for.
- Search now shows more relevant results, not just the newest pages.
- Partial searches work better (you don’t need exact wording).
- Results prioritize the most useful pages, not random matches.
- Fewer “no results found” moments when searching the site.
- Content like guides, playlists, and courses is easier to discover.
This means you can try searching for a problem, situation, or tension, like:
- “what to say when conflict shows up”
- “worried I offended someone”
- “communicating complicated ideas clearly”
- “how can I open a meeting without being awkward”
- “presenting my ideas more clearly and still sound like myself”
If you haven’t explored our Learning Library yet, consider this your invitation to wander. If something’s been on your mind, try searching for it. Or click a category and see what catches your attention. A lot of the content here is meant to be found before you realize you need it.
👉 Sign up for the library, and try out the search, or click a category.
