Health professionals, thank you for the work you do in the world. Everyday, and today.
Thank you for turning to Health Communication Partners for support.
Over the last few months, we’ve had a tremendous increase in visitors, subscribers, and members. The download rate for our podcast series has doubled. This is incredibly exciting and validating.
Many of the downloads are because of the turn to remote learning. I’ve heard from listeners that episodes from our show are being used in schools of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, public health, and even veterinary. (If you’re using the show, hey let me know!) This is enormously gratifying to me as an educator. I’m hoping you will continue to use the episodes as tools to think with. I hope you’ll question them, and talk back to them (and to me).
You might know there are more than 75 episodes on topics related to patient education, health literacy and health communication. With some special topics like reflective practice, digital health, and mentoring.
But…did you know there are transcripts for every episode, with hyperlinks to research?
And did you know I take requests? If you have topics, ideas, maybe you have something important you want to share–please contact me.
To make things easier to share digitally, I’ve put together two bundles of some of our most popular episodes along with teaching materials: Effective Patient Education and Addressing Implicit Bias. They’d be perfect for a class (hint, hint).
I also put together a page of COVID-related resources. These include interviews with multiple health professionals about COVID, some COVID-specific information and research resources, as well as my prior writings and podcast episodes that have bearing on communication and education when there is doubt, misconceptions, and different positionalities of those involved.
I hope these will provide some support and guidance as you continue to communicate with patients, the public, colleagues, the media, and lawmakers. And I will continue to write and broadcast about COVID-19.
Much love to you!
